Computer Science(CS) vs. Computer Engineering(CE)

Difference between CS(also called as CSE in India) and CE :

The major difference between CS and CE is that Computer Science Mostly focuses on Softwares and Computer Engineering focuses on Softwares as well as Hardware. 

Other major difference is that CS trains you for practical applications of computer engineering and methods to use that practical skills in the real world. whereas CE contains heavily theory and less practical applications. so, CSE is more Practical Application Oriented whereas CE is more Theory Oriented. 

But in Indian universities, you will not face the problem of selection between CE and CSE because they will give only one option either CSE or CE and that's Fine because both are computer degree and both will give you same career opportunity after completion. But In Countries like USA and Germany, it Matters. Because there is Huge Difference in Syllabus of CSE and CE there. so you should be careful while selecting your degree major.

The Reality in India is that It will not matter at all from which Major you have completed your UG Course. What will actually matter is from which University you have completed your UG. So, Indian students should better focus

on College rather than Degree Major.
